Why was Generation Q formed?
Generation Q was created in 1996 (then called 20-Something) to fill the age gap between Pink Triangle Services’ Pink Triangle Youth and the Men’s and Women’s Discussion Groups. Though each good in their own right, PTY tended to cater to a younger crowd, whereas the other discussion groups tended to attract an older crowd. This did not leave much for men and women in their twenties and early thirties, other than the bar scene.

So, after discussions with Pink Triangle Services, the group was created to provide an outlet for the younger adult crowd.

What is Generation Q anyway?
Generation Q is a peer-led discussion, support and social group. The group is intended as a free-form sharing of ideas and values on a particular topic; the facilitator just makes sure everything runs smoothly. We try to cultivate a sense of participation, and encourage everyone to contribute to the conversation. Everyone’s thoughts are valuable. Of course, sometimes we just relax, have pizza or a pot luck, or watch a movie; the focus isn’t on debating a topic, it’s on getting to know people and just having fun.

When can I join GenQ?
We encourage you to drop in and participate one evening to get a feel for the group – we’re always welcoming new members!
