CODE OF ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

Purpose:

To establish general principles of personal and organizational conduct in order to engender the trust of the GLBT community, community partners, the community at large, and funders, and to enhance the reputation of the Wellness Project and its staff for professionalism and community development.

As Wellness Project volunteers:

  1. We will conduct ourselves with integrity, honesty, openness and transparency.
  2. We will treat others with respect, fairness, consideration, tolerance, humanity, civility and dignity.
  3. We will honour our commitments.
  4. We will accept the consequences of our actions.
  5. We will respect the rule of law and will neither engage in unlawful activity ourselves nor condone unlawful activity by others.
  6. We will avoid positions of real or perceived conflict of interest that might impair, or could reasonably be thought to impair, our professional judgement.
  7. We will not release any confidential information concerning focus group or survey participants gathered during the course of the Project without that participant’s permission.
  8. We will support the objectives and uphold the image and reputation of the Wellness Project and of Pink Triangle Services and will not engage in acts or activities that would discredit either organization.
  9. We will uphold the values of integrity, honesty, accountability, prudence, impartiality, equity and discretion.
  10. We will collaborate and work collegially with other Wellness Project volunteers, community partners, will seek out and value their input to our work, and will openly share our knowledge with community partners for the benefit of the Wellness Project and Pink Triangle Services.
  11. We will fully comply with all applicable Pink Triangle Services and Wellness Project polices and regulations.
  12. We will encourage other Wellness Project volunteers with whom we work to abide by this Code and will neither support nor condone the violation of its provisions.
